TDA Weapons Concepts

Some old concept art I did on GIMP a while back, while I was just coming up with the idea for my webcomic series, Taiga Warfare.

These are some coloured sketches of weapons built from scrap and used by the Taiga Defence Army, which will play a huge part of the story later on. They all have working names and the designs here may change later in development.

From top to bottom:

The Sardine is a basic submachine gun, which got it's name from the shiny scrap metals used for it's frame and casing. It is terrible at long distances, but handy at closer range; considering it's light weight and small size. Like most other weapons built by the TDA, it uses it's own special ammo, built from scrap as well. TDA engineers are continuously working on it's accuracy, for better performance during skirmishes with corporate security personnel.

The Piper is a self-built semi-automatic shotgun, with a manually loaded drum magazine. It's rounds can shred through thin metal and medium body armour, but kicks like a horse when fired. Some TDA infantrymen use it to go hunting, fishing or shoot down birds for sport.

The Scrapper is the TDA's trademark weapon, forming the backbone of the army and used on insignia. This semi-automatic rifle is admired for it's range, handling and stopping power. Some TDA infantrymen claim to have killed bears with just one shot to the head, though this has yet to be proven. There also exist several variants of the Scrapper: such as a carbine with a sawn-off barrel, a silenced model for stealthy missions, a sniper rifle fitted with a scope (really a monocular with a reticule painted on it), and even a prototype fully-automatic version.

I think I'll upload more GIMP scraps and sketches in the near future. It's not like I use GIMP all that much these days.
